Silent Hill is coming to Fortnite according to leaks, and we can’t wait

Fortnite has seen some gloriously ridiculous crossovers, from Godzilla through to Resident Evil and, according to a recent leak, it’s the turn of Silent Hill to team up with Epic’s online shooter. And you know what? We can’t wait.
News of this alleged collaboration comes from Fortnite fan Wensoing, who’s been on the money with several previous leaks, including Fortnite Chapter 6’s Japanese map. You can already play as Resident Evil characters in Fortnite, so this could be players’ chance to stage their own unofficial Resi/Silent Hill team-up.
As amazing as it would be, we doubt we’re going to get a full Silent Hill map. Instead, it’s more likely that, as with previous guest characters, we’ll get skins, weapons and so on from the Silent Hill franchise.
But, hang on, doesn’t that risk undermining the tone of the Silent Hill series? Not really. It’s true that Silent Hill games tend to be seriously sombre when you first tackle them, but several titles feature unlockable costumes and comedy weapons.
On top of that, Bloober Team already gave us some fantastically silly Silent Hill 2 costumes, including a Pyramid Head pizza box hat for James. Seeing Maria doing the Get Schwifty emote isn’t going to ruin the series for us.
In fact, after Silent Hill 2’s Mary Pipe mod, we’re having fun imagining the kind of ridiculous encounters that could arise. Who wouldn’t want to see James Sunderland, complete with wooden plank and pillow back-bling, beat the living daylights out of Optimus Prime?
If this crossover does happen, you can expect the skins to cost somewhere in the region of 1,500 V-Bucks, or around £8.00. As for the Silent Hill franchise, Silent Hill f arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC this September 25th.
